Classic Indian Filter Kaapi

This project aims to capture the morning life of a person living in Tamil Nadu (Southern India). This artwork takes to you back in time to show life 50 years ago. The hot cup of south Indian Filter kaapi is served in a brass container (Kaapi Dawara), the morning newspaper and a radio playing a soft music at the back is a routine people enjoy to follow every morning.

The copper container (Chembu) servers copper charged drinking water. The Red oxide coated floor keeps it cool in tropical climate. This shows simple and a holistic approach towards life. The products used were made with careful selection of materials like natural grass and minerals, Jute, metal, clay etc. This functional approach which existed long ago is repeating as a trend at present.
