You Are What You Eat : Ocean Plastics

The image of the Orange Roughy biting a plastic garbage bag, its handle firmly hooked to the blue finned Tuna shows the serious damage caused to the marine ecosystem by human activities. A closer look at the image shows an approaching fish net at the foreground of the image conveys fishing activity. This further alarms us as the fish we have as food might be contaminated with plastic. Floating plastics in the ocean brings plastic into the human food chain. It further tells us the sad story of recycling as only a very negligible amount of plastics are recycled.
